1. Acceptance of Terms

By finalizing your order with The Comic Doctor Inc (“we,” “us,” “our”), you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions, including all service, grading, shipping, storage, and liability policies.

If you do not agree, do not submit an order.

 

2. Services Offered

We provide professional services for collectible items, including:

• Comic book, magazine, and trading card pressing, cleaning, and conservation
• Preparation for third-party grading
• Facilitation of submissions to third-party grading companies (e.g., CGC, PSA)

Third-party grading companies are independent. We do not perform grading and cannot guarantee outcomes, labels, or acceptance.

 

3. Payment

Work will not commence until full payment is received. All payments are processed securely via Square or other approved methods.

 

4. Risks & No Guaranteed Results

You acknowledge and accept that:

• Pressing, cleaning, and conservation involve inherent risks
• Items may contain hidden or pre-existing defects
• Some defects may worsen or become more visible
• Grade improvement, market value, or acceptance by grading companies is not guaranteed.

 

5. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Accurate description of collectibles being submitted, including value at time of submission
• Accurate description of defects or concerns
• Proper packaging for shipment
• Selecting and paying for shipping insurance if desired
• Providing accurate contact and return information

 

6. Turnaround Times

All turnaround times are estimates only. Delays may occur due to workload, item condition, conservation needs, third-party grading timelines, or other circumstances.

 

7. Refusal of Service

We may refuse service for items that:

• Pose excessive risk of damage
• Are unsuitable for pressing, cleaning, or conservation
• Have undisclosed issues increasing risk

 

8. Third-Party Grading Facilitation

By submitting an order, you authorize us to facilitate grading submissions. You acknowledge that:

• Grading outcomes, labels, and acceptance decisions are controlled solely by the grading company
• We are not responsible for grading results, delays, or disputes
• Market value changes from grading outcomes are outside our control

 

9. Storage & Pickup

• Completed orders must be picked up or have shipping arranged within 45 business days of notification
• After 45 business days, a $20 CAD/month storage fee applies
• Orders unclaimed for 12 months are considered abandoned and may be disposed of

 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

• We are not liable for market value, replacement cost, or sentimental value
• Liability is limited to the amount paid for services
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

This applies to all services including pressing, cleaning, conservation, and grading facilitation.

 

11. Shipping & Transit

• Inbound shipping is at your risk
• Return shipping is tracked; insurance is recommended
• We are not responsible for carrier delays, lost/damaged packages, or border and/or customs fees

 

12. Agreement & Authorization

By finalizing your order, you expressly authorize The Comic Doctor Inc to:

• Perform the requested services
• Facilitate third-party grading submissions

You acknowledge and agree:

• You assume all risks of handling, service, shipping, grading, and storage
• Third-party grading companies are independent
• Payment is required before work begins
• Orders are subject to pickup and storage policies

Clicking “Finalize Order” constitutes full agreement to all terms.

 

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Ontario, Canada law.
